For pharmaceutical distribution
Batch-level stock, GST-clean books.
Pharma distribution carries more stock discipline than most trades: batches matter, HSN codes matter, and a mismatch in your GSTR-1 gets noticed. Sally is built around batch-tracked inventory sitting inside a real double-entry ledger.

What the trade actually needs
Batch-level tracking
Stock items carry batches through every inventory movement, so what left the godown is traceable.
HSN on every item
HSN codes and GST rates live on the stock item, so the right tax lands on the invoice without anyone looking it up.
Godown-wise positions
Separate godowns with their own stock and transfers between them, reported individually or consolidated.
Order to despatch, connected
Quotations, sales orders, delivery challans with transporter and vehicle, then the GST invoice — one chain, no re-entry.
E-way bills that do not lapse
Generated from the invoice against the NIC IRP, with the dashboard flagging any bill expiring inside 48 hours.
Credit control
Receivables ageing with DSO on the dashboard, and per-party outstanding you can act on before it becomes a write-off.
Questions
Does Sally track batches?
Yes. Stock items can be batch-tracked, and batches carry through inventory transactions so movements stay traceable.
Does it handle expiry dates and near-expiry alerts?
Batches are tracked, but Sally does not currently run expiry-based alerting or automatic near-expiry reporting. If that is central to how you manage stock, raise it with us before switching — we would rather you knew now.
Can I import from my existing distribution software?
Sally imports Tally XML in full, and supports several other accounting formats. Check your current system’s export options first; if it can produce Tally XML, the path is well trodden.
How does GST filing work?
GSTR-1, 3B and 9 are prepared from your own books, with an HSN summary and GSTR-2B reconciliation to catch input credit your suppliers have not filed.
